The Stewart Heights Pool renovation in Tacoma, Washington is an excellent example of modern aquatic infrastructure that can revitalize an existing facility and extend its lifespan for years to come. Working alongside Pease & Sons and designed by Schemata Workshop, Paddock Pool Equipment supplied a custom-engineered 316L stainless steel gutter system to replace the facility's aging concrete perimeter gutter.

Crowded outdoor water park with swimmers in a large blue pool, winding slides, and sunny decks lined with lounge chairs at Stewart Heights pool recently renovated by Paddock Pool Corporation with updated gutters .

The renovation consisted of the installation of 328 linear feet of Paddock's Custom Trough Gutter, including 158 linear feet of straight gutter and 170 linear feet of radius gutter. Fabricated from 304L stainless steel, these products were selected for their corrosion resistance, durability, and long-term performance in demanding aquatic facilities. The project also featured custom inlaid depth markers within the HDPE grating, adding a clean, professional finish while maintaining functionality for recreational swimming.

Featuring a water slide, lazy river, zero depth entry, water play structure, water basketball, tumble buckets and a lap pool, Stewart Heights is home to swimmers of all ages and abilities. From early morning lap swimming to afternoon play, the gutter is also highlighted for its slip resistant surface which is vital for a highly populated, family friendly pool.

One of the most impressive aspects of the project was the precision of the installation. Despite needing two short sections of grating to be remade, the installation was considered a success and a strong example of the efficiency of Paddock's project management, communication and teamwork.

Gutter and installation was under $200,000. The renovation demonstrated the long-term value of investing in premium aquatic infrastructure. Replacing deteriorating concrete gutters with stainless steel perimeter gutter systems provides enhanced durability, simplified maintenance, improved water circulation, and a polished aesthetic that will serve the City of Tacoma for decades.
